DataCopy Scanners | |
DataCopy was a company bought by Xerox in the late 1980's. Many of their scanners were sold with the DataCopy, Ricoh and Xerox labels. These scanners have been discontinued for over 5 years. The information provided is done as service to our customers. DataCopy SoftwareDataCopy produced different software products such as WIPS, PCImage, VPMate, etc. There are no upgrades for those products and replacement copies of the disks are no longer available. Hardware RepairsDue to their age there is only repair service for the last model, the GSPlus. Owners should be aware that significant repairs such as the power supply or the mother board usually exceed the value of the scanner. Parts Availability
Parts are only available for the GSPlus. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)1) Can I connect it directly to my PC's parallel printer port? No. All of the scanners required a special interface card. The GSPlus used a special SCSI card and the 730/830/230/730GS used a Model 111 card. The SCSI card is available for around $200. The 111 card is no longer available. For further info on setting the Model 111 card refer to Technical Information Bulletin #024. For further info on setting the Model 114 interface refer to Technical Information Bulletin #142. 2) Can I use a standard parallel printer cable? No. All of the scanners required a special cable.
